Who We Are
Hey!
We’re Sam and Sequoia, the photographers and filmmakers behind Mirrorbox.
We met back in the day when we studied photography at college and we’ve shot weddings together ever since.
We work discreetly and always with an eye for editorial detail. Our photos and films are relaxed, and we shoot the day as it unfolds.
After 15 years and 100s of weddings, we have a ton of experience to bring to your day - the things you can’t learn from a college course or a YouTube tutorial! We give the tiniest hint of direction to get you at your best and leave you free to enjoy your day.
Weddings are joyful, life-affirming celebrations and every time we pick up our cameras we’re looking for the next shot.
There’s not enough space here to list our favourite gigs, albums, films, podcasts, holidays, snacks… but we do love a chat so just drop us a line if you want to find out more about how we’d shoot your wedding.
-
Yes — we specialise in both wedding photography and cinematic wedding videography. Many couples choose our combined photo + video packages, which means you get a consistent visual style and a relaxed experience without multiple suppliers on the day.
-
We’re based in Scotland and regularly photograph and film weddings across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, the Highlands, and the Scottish Isles. We’re also happy to travel anywhere in Scotland for weddings and elopements.
-
Absolutely. We love elopements and intimate weddings, especially in the Highlands and remote Scottish locations. Whether it’s just the two of you on a mountainside or a small gathering with close family, we offer flexible coverage designed around your plans.
-
Our style is documentary and unobtrusive, with a creative, cinematic approach. We focus on real moments, natural emotions, and beautiful light — rather than staged or forced posing — while still creating striking, story-driven imagery.
-
Most couples book us for full-day coverage, from morning preparations through to evening celebrations. Shorter coverage and bespoke options are also available, particularly for elopements and smaller weddings.
-
We recommend booking 9–18 months in advance, especially for peak dates between May and September. However, we occasionally have late availability, so it’s always worth getting in touch.

Photography galleries are typically delivered within 6–8 weeks. Wedding films take around 12 - 14 weeks as we take time to craft a cinematic edit that reflects your day.

Yes — we’re always happy to offer advice on timelines, locations, and planning, especially for elopements or weddings in unfamiliar areas of Scotland. Our experience helps couples make the most of their day without it feeling rushed.

Simply get in touch via our contact page with your date, location, and plans. If we’re available, we’ll arrange a chat, send over full pricing details, and guide you through the booking process.

AI can do a lot of cool stuff, but it wasn't at your wedding. We were there, we know the moments that matter to you. A meaningful wedding gallery curated by humans is part of the package if you book Mirrorbox.
-
Yes. This is a great way to put yourself at ease in front of a camera, and we know loads of good locations for a shoot. You can add this on to your package when you book or at a later date - whatever you prefer.
-
The final running time is usually between 7 - 12 minutes, taking in the full scope of your wedding from morning til evening. These are general timings, though and may run over or under.
-
No - we give you all the good shots, retouched and ready for printing. This is typically between 500-800 images.

Because of copyright restrictions, we pick the music. We'll have a chat with you guys about what you like, what you don't like, and what kind of music you're using over the course of your wedding. We have a solid idea of what works, and we think the selection really complements the films we create.
