“I like shiny things but I’d marry you with paper rings”

There’s a place in Scotland where you can walk across the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a beautiful bridge on a beautiful island and the ocean flows right underneath. And that is where Calum and Ella chose to get married. Anyone who has visited the Western Isles will know how staggeringly gorgeous it is there. Getting to shoot a wedding against this kind of backdrop is such a privilege.

On the bridge across the Atlantic, Ella and Calum were surrounded by their family and friends and got married on the islands where they both grew up. Book-lover Ella bought everyone a specially chosen book she thought they’d love. And she was right! She picked a history of photography for me and its so good! This was just one of the thoughtful touches they had incorporated into their wedding to show how much their guests mean to them.

Music played a big part in the day, from Ella’s excellent getting ready playlist to the nighttime ceilidh. And their first dance was a recording of her grandad playing the accordion. It was perfect.

I had such a brilliant time being part of the celebration and thanks to both Ella & Calum for asking me along. Heading to the islands is always special, but even more so if its for a wedding.
